Role Overview:
The Server Engineer will support the installation, operation, and maintenance of physical and virtual server infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of compute platforms that power enterprise and cloud workloads.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers in the datacenter.
• Perform OS (Windows/Linux) administration, patching, and upgrades.
• Monitor server performance, capacity, and uptime using monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware, storage, and OS-related issues, escalating to vendors when needed.
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.) and ensure optimal resource utilization.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Ensure compliance with datacenter security, ISMS, and operational policies.
• Maintain server documentation, SOPs, and change management records.
• Collaborate with network, storage, and DC operations teams for smooth functioning.
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in server administration or datacenter operations (freshers welcome).
• Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization concepts (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
• Understanding of networking basics (IP, DNS, DHCP) is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work in 24x7 shift operations.
